We understand that sometimes last minute appointments are needed. Each day at 8am we make sure to open a few extra appointments to ensure we can provide the highest level of care.

A Standard Appointment Is For A Singular Issue

Multiple or complex issues require a longer appointment or you may be asked to reschedule. Please check with reception when booking if you have multiple, or a complex issue.

Phone Calls

Consultations will not be interrupted unless the situation is considered URGENT. A message can be left with reception and the doctor will return your call when possible. At all times, an appointment is the best option.

Recall (Reminder) System

The Wellers Hill Medical practice is committed to preventative care. With your permission you may be included on our reminder system which will offer you preventative health services appropriate to your care.

Non-Attendance Fee

We do understand that things pop up and you may need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, however, we do ask that you provide us with at least 1 hour notice prior to your appointment time so that we can attempt to fit in other patients.

In the event that you do not provide us with enough notice, a fee may apply.

After Hours Care

Outside of our normal opening hours, our patients can access our fully accredited deputising service: HOME DOCTOR SERVICE – 13SICK (137 425).

Bulk Billing

Our practice bulk bills all pension concession cards, DVA gold cards and children under 13 years old.

Bulk billing of patients outside of these categories is at the doctor’s discretion.

Standard Consultation Fee

Our standard consultation fee applies from 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday.

Long Consult – $162 (Medicare Rebate $76.95)

New Patient Consult – $162 (Medicare Rebate $76.95)

Mental Health Care Plan (2715) – $190 (Medicare Rebate $96.25) *NO BULK BILLING APPLIES*

Mental Health Care Plan Review (2712) – $162 (Medicare Rebate $75.80)

Concession Rate

Our Practice offers a concession rate for children 13 – 18 years and for Health Care Card holders from 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday.

Concession Standard Consult – $72 (Medicare Rebate $39.75)

Concession Long Consult – $147 (Medicare Rebate $76.95)

New Patient Concession – $147 (Medicare Rebate $76.95)

Saturday Fees

The Wellers Hill Medical Centre, is open from 8am until required on Saturday’s.

There is no bulk billing or concession services on Saturday’s including telehealth consultations.

Saturday Standard Consult – $99 (Medicare Rebate $39.75)

Saturday Long Consult – $172 (Medicare Rebate $76.95)

Saturday New Patient Consult – $172 (Medicare Rebate $76.95)

Fees between 7-8am

From Monday 15th January 2024, Wellers Hill Medical Centre’s opening hours are changing.

We are trying to provide more availability for patients needing to get to work, school and daycare.

Please be aware that individual doctors’ fees may vary between these hours. Refer to The Doctors page for individual fees.

Telehealth Fees

We use Telehealth (video) as our first preference. If you are unable to do this, Telephone consultations will still be available. Please note not all appointment types can be done as a telephone consultation.

Payment is still required on the day of your appointment via phone with your card details, bank transfer or in person at front reception.

Facility Fees

Consultations involving procedures or minor surgery incur a facility fee. This facility fee is not claimable from Medicare. Our reception staff will advise you of the costs for the facility fee at the time.

Management Of Your Personal Health Information

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of the Wellers Hill Medical practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised staff. Please read our Practice Privacy Policy for further information.

Email Policy

Our practice does not generally send any personal health information by email, unless done directly through Best Practice which incorporates the use of a PIN for security.

Our email is not encrypted and so is not considered a secure form of transmission.  This is not always acceptable to the patient and so there are circumstances where the doctor may consider it appropriate to send information via email that is not possible through Best Practice.  In this case the doctor would get express permission from the patient, a correct email address and then document this in the patient health record.

Our email is for non urgent contact that does not require an immediate response.

For anything that is urgent or needs to be dealt with in a timely manner please phone 3848 2111 and speak with one of our receptionists.

Medical Students

The Wellers Hill Medical practice assists in providing teaching and clinical training of medical students from the University of Queensland, Griffith University and Bond University. Medical students will be observing appointments and procedures from time to time. You will be advised of their presence and if you would prefer them not to be present, please advise your doctor and they will leave the consultation.
